Mechatronics Engineer with Embedded Software Experience (f/m/d)
- Development of an embedded real-time control software for the laser terminal system, including control loops, state machines, and peripheral device management.
- Develop and deliver embedded software for high-precision control systems – with expertise in both bare-metal and Linux-based environments. The target system is an ARM core on an MPSoC FPGA system.
- Define the real-time architecture for high-precision actuator systems. Work with the system engineering team to develop the algorithmic side of the terminal control.
- Participate in on-site and airborne field testing of the terminals.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines to development and provide debugging support for the terminal software.
Your Profile
- MS degree in Electronics, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Physics) with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven ability to design and implement real-time embedded control systems using C and C++.
- In-depth knowledge of control loop architectures, actuator/sensor modeling is a plus (theoretical and Simulink experience).
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, bare metal systems, and embedded development tools.
- Experience with common embedded system communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C).
- Experience with FPGAs, MPSoCs, and hardware/software co-design.
- Experience with high-precision actuator systems (e.g. robotics) or gimbal pointing applications and/or UAV platform control.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. German language is a plus.
