Software Developer Laser Communication for UAVs/Drones (f/m/d)

We’re looking for a passionate Embedded Software Engineer to help bring our UAV laser terminal systems to life. If you thrive on precision, autonomy, and seeing your code take flight – literally – you’ll fit right in.

What You'll Do

  • Develop embedded real-time control software for our advanced laser terminal systems, implementing pointing algorithms and communication protocols
  • Develop software on the software side of Xilinx Zynq MPSoC , in both bare-metal and PetaLinux/Yocto environments. Access to varied interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, Ethernet
  • Implement support systems on ARM cores for navigation systems, drone communication protocols, and user interfaces. Besides C/C++ code this will also require MySQL, Qt and Java
  • Participate in field and flight testing to validate system performance in challenging environments
  • Be part of a software team collaborating closely with hardware, optics, and systems teams to integrate, debug, and optimize the full system stack

 What You Bring

  • MS degree in Electronics, Software Engineering, or a closely related field with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in developing embedded software under real-time conditions for high-precision pointing systems (such gimballed systems, drones, navigation systems) is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA-SoC platforms (preferably Xilinx Zynq)
  • Familiarity with both low-level (bare-metal) and Linux-based development workflows
  • A collaborative mindset and readiness to contribute to a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team
  • Bonus: experience with airborne/aerospace/navigation systems

Why Join Us?

  • Shape next-gen laser communication technology with real-world impact
  • Work in a deeptech startup backed by top-tier research and strategic partners
  • Join an inspiring, international, mission-driven, agile team
  • Flat hierarchies, real ownership, and the chance to grow with us
  • A mix of lab, field, and flight testing - no two days are the same
